Bright Star Birthday

Capella!

How can she be two?!

Happy, easy, friendly, smart.

Pretty, athletic, and just plain fun.

I would not change a thing about her — she is just right. In every way ⭐️❤️

This is Capella running to catch up with her Grandma Sparkle.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAPELLA!

Birthday Continued...

Xeena (fka Zaniah) was the puppy in the litter I wanted to keep because of her energy/attitude, strong working ability, and related — because she reminded me of her great-grandma, Zoey. I was prepared to keep two puppies if she could not go to a home that would appreciate her. I knew she was that special.

Placing puppies always feels like giving away a piece of your heart — but this puppy? It was more like a piece of my soul.

But there was the perfect home — one that would value and love her. A person who would train her with intelligence, kindness, and patience. I am forever grateful that I knew I could trust Kim with this very special girl.

Here is our birthday update about Xeena, who is living her very best life north of me in Canada:

Puppyhood is now behind us, and although she still has her teenager moments, Xeena has really started to mature in the past few months.

Xeena is still a very busy and active dog but she has learned to settle and has become quite the cuddly dog.

She has even perfected the art of the arm bump when you stop petting her.

Xeena is petite in stature and just a very sweet and gentle girl.

Xeena loves agility training and it gives her a fun outlet for her energy.

She also really likes using her nose and so we ventured into her first scent detection trials this past year.

I just love this smart, athletic and busy girl.

I can’t wait for our adventures over the next year.”

ME EITHER! Kim and her dogs (she has Daisy’s brother as well) are active on Facebook — they are fun to follow!

Thank you, Kim, for being the right person at the right time — and HAPPY BIRTHDAY XEENA!

Bright Star Birthday Week

Day #2 of our Birthday Bonanza!

Here is a photo of the Bright Stars boys at five weeks.

Such pretty puppies!!

Today’s birthday reports come from our Brights Stars living in Arizona and Oregon — the puppies formerly known as Mirak (Sage) and James (Tobie).

Let’s start with Tobie in Oregon. Cheryl reports:

“It is hard to believe that Tobie is officially 2 years old!  He is definitely still part energetic, spontaneous puppy, but he also believes he is smarter than us and capable of making his own decisions!

We are working on helping him see that our decisions are actually in his best interest, so he will learn to willingly come when called.

This past year, Tobie has attached to us in a deeper way.  He loves to be with us and is especially loyal and affectionate, desiring to snuggle and receive our attention and love.

He loves to go on long hikes, play in the snow, play with other dogs, run in any water, and to just sit on a high place in our yard to observe, and then bark at any perceived threat (squirrel, cat, dog) to our property.

Everywhere I go with Tobie, people stop to say how beautiful he is.

We continue to be grateful for his presence in our lives and how he brings a new adventure and enrichment to each day.”

Thank you, Cheryl and family, for giving Tobie a life of adventures! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBIE!

Kay and Sue in Arizona had Riley from my A Litter, and have consistently had one of my puppies since — how grateful I am to be able to say that, and call them my friends ❤️ We have this fun update from Kay:

“I’m happy to report on our beautiful Sage on his 2nd birthday. He had no trouble fitting into our pack with his uncle Lucas. Sage is full of enthusiasm for whatever he is doing.

When I’m making his dinner, he’s right beside me jumping up as high as he can (and that’s pretty high). He also enjoys a brisk walk on his treadmill every day.

Sage is a very affectionate boy and loves to lay his head in my lap when he’s ready for some down time.

In addition, I think he is the smartest Berner I’ve trained and so a joy to work with. Sage has lately been learning to pull his cart and will participate in his first draft test on his second birthday.

⭐️⭐️⭐️NEWS FLASH: HE PASSED! SAGE NDD ⭐️⭐️⭐️

We look forward to keeping him busy with various activities this spring. He’s just so much fun and a great addition to the household.”

How very awesome that Sage gave us all a gift on HIS birthday, passing that draft test at exactly two years old, which is the minimum age a dog can be entered. How cool is that?! CONGRATULATIONS to Team Sage on a wonderful accomplishment — and HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAGE NDD!
