And for Claire, what is now involves veterinary-prescribed structured, careful swimming with Montana Water Dogs in Missoula.

It is so wonderful to see her doing something she loves so much. What a fantastic option for building Claire back towards NORMAL; she is swimming twice each week. In addition, formal work with the Canine Conditioning Coach starts today. Progress feels so good.

Get Ready for SWIMMING

With apologies to Carol, who no doubt thought by the title that there would be swimming pics today, I wanted to share a couple of things related to swimming (but no swimming pics — yet!).

Claire says, “Did someone say SWIMMING?!”

Claire continues her long, slow recovery. She has been cleared for swimming and so tomorrow we start. Although she is an amazingly good swimmer and there are lakes and rivers near us, we will begin in a more controlled setting: a Missoula business that offers specialized swimming for dogs in a pool.

And speaking of dogs and swimming, THIS is an excellent article about life vests and dogs. Bottom line: Yes, please.

Thank you to all who keep me in photos!

The ten plus ten were followed by a busy end of the semester and then the Specialty — I am finally starting to feel like a break might be a real thing. Whew. Much needed — 2021 has been action-packed and some down time will be nice.

First on the agenda — playing catch up on all the undone and delayed things. Once that is done, I can begin to look forward and make some tentative plans/goals. I think Karma and Capella are already started on their strategizing…

I moved the rehab/training space to the dining room. It is a perfect size for what is needed. I am so excited to be taking small steps towards getting Claire back to her active life.
