Yesterday I was able to visit with Kathy and Jack in Salt Lake City — it was so wonderful to see them! That means I also got to visit with everyone’s favorite freckled boy, Zimmer (Sparkler)…
And Miss Ava (one of the iPups)…
It was so wonderful to see all of them.
We (Dear Daughter and I) also got to visit with the family, which means that we all shared the responsibility of playing with the two-year-old…
The goal here is to build a tower and then knock it over — again and again and again. Luckily for the neighbor downstairs, the blocks are rubber.
Apparently it was Take Your Niece to Work Day — who knew?!

And of course Berkeley had to visit “Barkle”…
And then I drove back to Montana — the elk were EVERYWHERE!
The deep snow in the mountains drives the elk down to lower elevations in the winter.
And now I am back home, experiencing that sense of dislocation that happens with the continual transition between the different places that I want to be.
The snow level here is incredible — more than we have had at any time in the 10+ years we have lived here. It is beautiful but I am not sure how I am supposed to train for tracking and draft!
