Birthday Finale

Yesterday I got a text from Carol telling me that, “litter updates are the best!!!” I agree and THANK YOU to the humans who take the time to share them

Today we finish up celebrating the Sparklers’ ninth birthday. We will begin with Abbie — Ashlee sends us this fun update:

“Abbie is doing amazing.  At our last vet check up he said if he didn’t have her chart in front of him, he would have thought she was four and not nine.  Here is to acting and looking four forever!

We moved this year and our new home is perfect for early morning walks with Abbie, we go every day at 7:10 and it has taught her to tell time!!  If I am even 5 minutes late she is looking at the clock and stomping her feet.  And every day at least one person stops to tell her how beautiful she is.  Yesterday a car pulled all the way over to tell her she was gorgeous.  She is also a great babysitter to our kids and all the neighborhood children who play in our yard, chasing them and tell them what they should be doing.  She is kind and gentle with all of them and they all adore her.

And the best thing is she is always up for a snuggle…in fact she can never quite get close enough.  She is just the best dog!!  We love her so much!!

Happy birthday sweet girl.  Thank you for picking up after us, watching over us, always being game for whatever and loving us unconditionally. Here is to many more birthdays full of romping in the yard and snuggling on the sofa.”

I love all of that so much — thank you Ashlee and family — and HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBIE!!!

I also love that Abbie gets to see her littermate, our favorite freckled boy Zimmer, on a regular basis since Ashlee is Kathy’s daughter ❤️

Here is Kathy’s Zimmer update:

“As Mary-Ann would say, “Oh my heck!  What freckles!”  But we love each and every one.

Zimmer is a delightful, perfect boy.  One would never guess he is nine years old.  He is still very much the puppy—sound and energetic.  Did I mention he is perfect?  At least for us.

Though he is up early, he lets us sleep in.  But I better not open an eye or he is up and going.  He is perfect in the house except of one thing.  He has yet to like any dog bed and we have many.  He prefers the couch, but not before he tosses off every pillow to make room.  When I try to catch him up there and begin to sneak up on him, he is off and greeting me in the hall before I see him up there.  He curls up on my feet whenever I am cold and he makes a perfect warm blanket.

He loves all his toys and each one comes out every day.

He particularly loves his squeaky snake and is sure to squeak it repeatedly if we get too engrossed in something else.

He leaps just like Zoey.  Inherited I am sure.

He guards the back yard.

He loves his walks and trips, car rides and hotels. He loves our grand children.  Here he is providing the perfect backrest for Ellie as she reads.

He loves life.  He plays and sleeps hard,  He takes care of us.  His happy, silly, and loving demeanor makes every one of our days just that much better in every way.

Zimmer and our family wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”

What is there to say — except I suspect Carol is very happy reading these updates today ❤️

Thank you, Kathy and Jack. So much.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZIMMER!!!

And in the spirit of the Holidays, I give you the Sparkler Elves 🎄

Again, thank you to the Sparkler families and to all of you for reading along ❤️
