Monday Round-Up on Wednesday

It isn’t Monday but I do have fun news from the weekend.

Thanks to Lisa K. for taking this amazing photo of Jordan — and for her willingness to let it be shared! LOVE.

Congratulations to Team Jordan (Sparkler) for passing the open draft level at the Seattle test on Saturday — and for returning promptly to work after chasing a taunting squirrel up a tree on Sunday, with her cart attached! I sure wish there had been a video of that.

Team Kiri — also a Sparkler — picked up 11 points towards her Bronze Grand Championship over the weekend. She was Best of Breed twice and once Best of Opposite. That is an impressive showing — great job, Team Kiri!

In non-dog news (sort of) — one of the things I did while on Sabbatical was co-author a book chapter; that book was recently published.

I am currently working on yet another book chapter — this one about dogs and college students. There are so many interesting projects in the world!

And one of those — I hope — is raising puppies. However, we will not know if Claire is pregnant until mid-October.

Another fabulous Galen photo of Claire.

Until then — are you wearing your Lucky Socks???

A Wrap

The family fun part of this trip has been SO wonderful.

I rented a house in Truckee and Perfect Sister came — and so did my dad!

We played cards, cooked in a real kitchen (that was novel!), and went for a hike…

My dad headed out yesterday afternoon but Perfect Sister stayed. We went over to visit Jennifer Z. yesterday. Sparkle was enthralled with Rohloff, Jennifer’s puppy.

Rohloff is a Karsten puppy and he is not only beautiful but wow — what a temperament. I want a puppy as sweet and pretty as he is — and given that Claire was bred to Karsten, my wish could come true.

Later today we start the long trek back — hoping and wishing and praying this worked but grateful for these few days with family, and appreciative of Jennifer Z. for her part in all this adventure.

Lucky Socks all around.
