Incoming B for Birthday

Harper B for aBout to Be My Birthday!

Harper Oct 2019.jpg

In eight days she will be EIGHT! How is that possible?!

Harper is doing so well. She is looking forward to celebrating her B for Birthday with a trip to Boise, where she will do obedience with the goal of finishing her Git ‘er Done novice title.

In case anyone ever wonders again if a dog deserves to have her knee — or knees — repaired, just think of Harper B for for Better Believe It. She has two Harper B for Bionic Knees and is happily, actively, and joyfully celebrating her life every single day.

Happy, active and joyful — I hope that sums up your day as well!

Life and Love

Happy Monday!

If Claire is pregnant, the embryos are now beginning to attach to the endometrium. Before this point in a dog’s pregnancy, embryos are free floating.

This delayed connection between the mother’s body and the puppies is why we cannot determine pregnancy in a dog until about the fourth week. The human equivalent would be that a pregnancy is about in the fourth month before we would even know we were pregnant!

Isn’t that wild?

And so we continue to wait — and dare to hope.

A couple of fun photos. This is Sparkler Zimmer with Jack. Kathy reports that this is a morning tradition with these two.

I just love the obvious regard between those two in the photo. Thank you, Kathy, for sending along the love.

I am not in Boise but Galen is and he took this photo of the Junior Heintzberger twins, Kade and Kole, with their canine sister — Heidi Heidi from the H Moon Litter — who has been a presence in their lives since the day they were born.

Heidi Heidi is approaching her eighth birthday! Isn’t she lovely? Thank you to Galen for the photo.

I hope your Monday is picture perfect. And speaking of pictures — always feel free to send my way!

Holy Fun Day!

I dragged myself from my sick bed and went to Helena yesterday. Dear Daughter was appalled — she gave me the plague and therefore knew just how bad it was but I was determined not to miss the fun. I actually think friends — not laughter — is the best medicine.

And dogs…

This is Eddie — he is Daisy’s littermate, Holden Squeaker’s son, Sydney’s grandson, and Zoey’s great-nephew, and so on. AND he is a new NDD and DD! Congratulations to Kim T. and Eddie!

Jordan (Sparkler) is rocking it in Helena — in fact, it is hard to keep up with this girl and her humans. But I was there to see her win a five-point major (she took a four-point major the day before!) from a lovely line-up of girls! And she is passing draft tests like nobody’s business.

Marti and her crew are also having a great showing in Helena — this is Kidd (iPup) and Lili.

Jordan and Jumar are also a lovely brace team.

But Jordan is looking for an open brace partner — at over ten years, Jumar prefers to stick to the Novice level. Sparkle tried out for the job.
