Helena Day Two

Capella was Reserve to the major yesterday — close but no cigar.

After the beauty pageant part was done, we all changed our clothes and moved on to the draft test.

Because I spent $160 on new rain/snow boots the day before (after seeing the forecast), it rained before the test and after the test but not during the test. These are some seriously powerful boots!

Wildflower Chase was there with his human and they passed the Open Draft test.

Congratulations Team Chase! 🎉

Grand Master Draft Dog Jordan (Sparkler) was there as well but as moral support to the family — she has done PLENTY of draft tests, after all ❤️

Jordan ⭐️

Claire was in Open and she passed. She already had the title and so I suppose we are accumulating passes towards advanced draft titles now. A dog needs five passes in a class for the advanced title for that particular class. The same is true for our Sundance/Claire brace team — they passed Novice Brace for the third time.

And we do it all again today. Maybe I should wear those boots in the Breed ring??? 🤔 That would be quite a look.

Happy Saturday to you 🌈

Dog Show Life

I have a lot to say about this anniversary show weekend but I will save that for another day.

Day One.

An exhausting five point major for Bright Star Capella. She needs one more major to finish her championship. Lucky Socks all around, please. We have three more days 🍀🙏🏽

Claire, in the front of this photo, will do the draft test today.

So today is beauty pageant first and then draft.

Yep, I am in my Happy Place, made all the happier because some of my favorite people and dogs are here as well.

❤️

I hope you are having a happy day, regardless of place.

Girl Power

Over the weekend, I helped my daughter with an assignment for her MBA program, gave input to my daughter-in-law about her MSW internship, and met with another young woman who wanted some guidance about her application to grad school.

I was so struck by all that — all those young women and their opportunities! And I am extremely grateful to be able to provide that kind of support to younger women. So many of us do not — did not — have that support.

Women need to support other women — and girls.

Like Ada, seen here imitating Wildflower Zeus.

Ada is active in Girl Scouts, and they are having a fall fundraiser that doesn’t include cookies but does include a no-subscription Bark Box!

I invite you to support Ada AND send love to someone — I know just the dogs who are going to be getting a Bark Box from me.
