MOONSHADOW BIRTHDAY PARTY BEGINS

HAPPY SECOND BIRTHDAY TO OUR VERY SPECIAL MOONSHADOWS!!!

The birthday updates begin with the reason we created the Moonshadows — Margie. Toby shares:

“It's hard to believe that 2 years have passed since that day when I excitedly zoom participated in the birth of the Moonshadows!  As each puppy was brought in to Mary-Ann and puppy mid-wife assistant extraordinaire Suzanne, I was ticking off a tally of sexes.  Boy, boy, boy, boy....wait, 8 boys?  Where are the girls?  Finally...2 perfect girls :)

That one-day whirlwind trip to Bozeman and back to pick up my special girl is still a blur.  Which pretty much describes Miss Margie Moonshadow.  She's up for pretty much anything and has found her niche in FastCAT, easily got her Farm Dog certification and quite surprisingly, loved paddleboarding.

Conformation is coming along nicely too, and hopefully 2023 will bring more success in that venue as well as in Rally and perhaps Novice Obedience.  She really wants to work, but her enthusiasm often gets in her (and my) way!

I joke (ok, maybe not really joke) that she's half feral.   I'm still trying to convince her that her cart is not some Bernese Mountain Dog eating monster, I hope the drafting gene has not skipped a generation as that would make me very sad.

She loves her Uncle brother Clark, and is a very happy participant in their #coffeewithclark #morningswithmargie photo sessions.

Cuddly beyond description, she's able to somehow use her head like a battering ram to get just the right angle for the perfect snuggle.  Fiercely stubborn and independent, yet completely clingy, cautious and even fearful at times, she's quite the character and Clark and I love her to pieces.  We are so grateful to Mary-Ann for our Margie Moonshadow ❤️”

Thank you, Toby, for Margie’s wonderful life — and for being responsible for the existence of the other amazing and perfect Moonshadows 😘

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARGIE MOONSHADOW 🥳

Bright Stars! Atlas

We continue to gather our Bright Star updates — slightly delayed by my focus on the TEDx event I did yesterday (you can read about it HERE).

ATLAS (fka Sun) — here is the update from Kira:

“Atlas, the fifth child we never knew we needed.

Atlas really does think he is “one of the kids” and has taken on the class clown role.

Atlas loves:
His family.

Walks with Onyx.

Sitting in his mom’s lap — mom says this is quite difficult when you’re 114 lbs!

Being in the middle of everything ALL THE TIME.

Finding the biggest stick possible to bring inside.

Atlas is the most loving, cuddly dog and we are incredibly grateful he came into our lives when he did!”

Thank you to Kira and all of the Cranford/Heintzberger family for appreciating Atlas, and giving him such a well-loved life ❤️ HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATLAS!

Also, I am happy to report that Jay continues to do so well following his heart transplant! 🫶🏽🍀

Yes, we are still missing a few Bright Stars and we will add them to our Birthday Celebration as they arrive. It is never too late to celebrate!

Bright Star Birthday continues

Alison has electricity again (New England winter!) — YAY! That means she was able to send us this excellent report about her Bright Star:

“Originally Heze, this sweet puppy hopped over a constellation becoming Zuber, named after the star Zubenelgenubi in the constellation of Libra.

He has been the easiest puppy we ever raised and has grown into a laid back adolescent/approaching maturity dog.

He loves long walks and is an eager learner.

He can stretch out and run like the wind with immensely long strides but his favorite gait seems to be a bounding, leaping cavort.

We've had such fun watching him learn to manage his rapidly changing body and gangly limbs.

Just the last few months Zuber seems to be broadening and maturing and catching up with the legs he sprouted before a year of age.

He is still a work in progress and I look forward to the results of another year or two of growth.

Lately he seems to be feeling his macho boy oats. Hmmm. We'll see where that goes.”

Uh Oh, Zuber — you might want to slow your macho roll. Also, I think THIS might be Zuber’s theme song right now.

So much gratitude to Alison and Tom for giving this beautiful Bright Star the life he deserves and HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZUBENELGENUBI!
