Bright Star Atlas has things under control in Idaho…

His adult humans, Jay and Kira, are still in Utah following Jay’s heart transplant. Kira reports that Jay is doing incredibly well — there has been no sign of rejection, and Jay feels better than he has in years.

Kira and Jay are so grateful to their team but most of all — to the donor. That person is a Hero. A miracle-worker.

And he — the donor — reminds us that we can feel all kinds of emotions at the same time — the human heart has space for all of it. Sorrow for the loss one family is mourning. Joy for the miracle another family is living.

It all fits.

Just like Jay’s new heart.

Cats

I am intentional and careful about dogs. Cats, on the other hand, find me.

Like Karma — she found me at a gas station in Barstow, CA fourteen years ago next month.

This explains the two new residents in my walk-out basement. Trapped in Idaho and then saved from euthanasia by a local rescue, two older feral kittens have taken up residence downstairs to hopefully address the mouse issue caused by a certain former resident with hoarding issues.

The stuff is out but the mice remain hopeful.

Did I mention the kittens are feral?

Sparkle wonders if maybe moving this cat toy downstairs might help them feel at home…

She is such a kind dog, that Sparkle!

I am still working on names for the little spitfires — they are a brother and sister. The orange one is a girl and her brother is black, which helps him hide out better from the scary human clearly bent on performing kitten sacrifices (aka me) 🙄

No worries — I love a good project!

I hope you are having a wonderful, happy, hiss-free weekend ❤️
