Connect the Humans: The Work of a Dog

Dogs are community builders — it is one of their super powers. There is Buttercup and Zeus (Wildflowers) who have created a lovely friendship among their humans…

And now their brothers have planted friendship seeds as well…

Kjempe lives in Colorado but his brother, Kitsap, is from back east. Kitsap’s human has work in Colorado for a few weeks (lucky her!) and so the brothers had a playdate…

Building connections two puppies at a time. Well done, Boys.

Claire Update

I have a dream that Claire could maybe finish the Bronze Grand Championship. She has 71 of the 100 points needed. It might never happen because of her bilateral knee repairs but a long shot is still actually a shot, and hope is a comforting companion.

We continue to work with Anna Lee of Canine Conditioning Coach. Her website has a lot of great videos that are free and very well done; any dog can benefit from the work. At my house, all of the dogs are eager to do Claire’s exercises.

In addition to her program with the Canine Conditioning Coach, Claire is also in a structured swimming program with Montana Water Dogs.

I feel so fortunate to have such great resources available to us.

Hope is a great start but insufficient to the task — a goal also requires a plan and informed, smart action. Whether we finish that Bronze Grand Championship or not, Claire’s recovery has been — and is — informed and enhanced by having that goal (and others — goals are like Berners — you cannot have just one!)

I love goals.

Do you?
