On my way to Canada yesterday I met up with two new families. Neil is now Wally and will be living near Seattle with a lovely family…

Arche is probably Scout and he will also be living near Seattle — here he is with his new human, Laurie, and his human grandma (grandmas are the best!)…

Heze, now Zuber, is doing just fine in New Hampshire…

Titan, now Pip, is close-by in Missoula and doing great…

Kale and Fauci Orion are having a playdate in Maryland today — how awesome is that?! Margie Moonshadow is off to work with Toby, and received quite the welcome from the staff…

So far, so good — and the Big Adventure starts tomorrow!

An International Incident

Guess where I went?

Not on purpose, mind you.

Since the border is closed, a puppy has to travel with a commercial transporter to get into Canada. I will spare you all the complicated details but it likely doesn’t surprise you to know that I handed over Zaniah at the last possible place on the route and then followed the transport van to the border.

Well, actually — I went across the border.

Text to my sister as I was dealing with the Custom Agents. She thought I was kidding!

Wouldn’t you think those gates are the border?

Nope.

Much explaining to the Customs Agent and apologies and I was eventually allowed to turn around but since I was technically arriving in the USA from Canada — a distance of about 100 feet — I had to stop and also explain things to the US Border Agent, show ID and so on.

Oops.

I waited until I was sure that Zaniah was with her new human…

…and then drove five hours home.

Zaniah — now Xeena — will live with Kim and her family, including Daisy’s littermate, Eddie. A perfect placement for that wonderful, busy, smart, active girl — both of them :)

Dear Husband was in charge while I was gone — I think the manners might have slipped a bit in my absence.

Although she thinks her name should have been first, Rosebud was excited to be included in a package and even more excited with what she received…

A just-add-catnip fish!

Rosebud would say thank you but she is too stoned on catnip to remember her manners.

And speaking of excited, I am thrilled to share about the rest of the Bozeman hand-offs.

Bright Star Orion, now Fauci (LOVE!), is safely home in Maryland with Jack and Maria…

Andy, now Andy, is with my Dear Friend, Jasen, in Texas.

Extra sweet Kale is also in Maryland with his new human, Ellen.

Big T will be staying local — he moved out yesterday as well. ..

…and moved right on in with his new humans.

More departures tomorrow and so today is all about preparing for those.
